The Micro-Drilling Attachment can be installed on any Levin lathe with an 18" bed. The easy installation is possible because of an adjustable guide that will fit against side of lathe bed.

To obtain the ultimate in holding close tolerances on diameter, straightness, roundness, and concentricity, it is essential that the work and drill revolve in opposite directions. When using small drills, especially on materials which have a tendency to work-harden, it is absolutely necessary to prevent the drill from abruptly striking the bottom of the hole or rubbing the bottom without cutting. The Levin Micro-Drilling Attachment meets all these requirements.

A high-precision, collet-holding spindle assembly is mounted on two slides which permit the drill spindle to be quickly aligned with the lathe headstock.

The drill feed is accomplished by turning the feed screw handwheel while maintaining forward pressure on the slide handle. The drill cannot be forced, as it cannot be advanced any faster than the handwheel is turned. Rapid retraction to clear chips can be made at any time and rapidly advanced to the same position it had just prior to retraction.
